Omega-6s and Omega-3s For Hemorrhoid Relief

September 4th, 2009

Cell membranes are made primarily of fatty molecules called phospholipids.  Certain kinds of oils called omega-3s and omega-6s are used to create the phospholipids in cell membranes.  Your body needs these oil because it can’t produce them itself.  You can only find these oils through what you eat.  As much as 90 percent of us are deficient in these essential fatty acids.  If you aren’t getting these then your cells use whatever raw materials they can find.  It then tries to find these materials in other places like margarine, vegetable shortening, baked goods and breakfast cereals, saturated fats from meat and dairy products and trans-fatty acids in processed salad and cooking oils.

Because they are the ones your body can use the membrane and the entire cell begins to malfunction.  When a cell membrane tries to build itself from hydrogenated oils it impairs the the ability of the cell to get oxygen and when they are deprived of oxygen the cells become cancerous.  It seems we just are not informed about how important it is to have these oils in our bodies.  Maybe because of price or laziness food manufacturers substitute less expensive kinds of substances such as margarine, vegetable shortening and supermarket oils.

White Flour Contributes To Hemorrhoids

September 3rd, 2009

Almost all bread, pasta and baked goods are made of white flour.  It’s easy to use, easy to store, and highly processed from what used to be wheat.  Wheat is a good and nutritious food, but by the time it is so processed it hardly resembles what it once was.  White flour contains very little nutrition and is actually toxic and is an antinutrient (like sugar).  But did you know that the average American consumes more than 200 pounds of white flour every year.  Almost all the nutrients that were once in the wheat are lost in the process of making it into white flour.  You also lose the fatty acids and fiber that were in wheat.  And worse many of the nutrients that you body needs to metabolize the flour for energy are lost as well.  Because the flour does not contain those nutrients. your body is robbed of them.  Because of severe nutritional problems in 1941 our government passed legislation that certain  nutrients had to be added back to the flour.  That is how “enriched flour” was born.  When the wheat is processed into white flour more than twenty-five known nutrients are lost and only a handful are added back in.

Pregnancy and Hemorrhoids

September 1st, 2009

I remember the times I got hemorrhoids were the times I didn’t drink enough water, eat enough fiber, or was trying to have a baby.  In fact, the worst I ever had hemorrhoids was when I was in labor.  I wouldn’t doubt that most women who have had hemorrhoids had them when they were trying to deliver a baby. The constant pushing puts so much pressure on those tender tissues that after not too long you have hemorrhoids. With a couple of my pregnacies, at least, I had hemorrhoids bad enough to be quite problemsome.

Fortunately, I only had to use an over-the-counter remedy for a couple of weeks and those tissues were back to normal.  I think the other times I experienced hemorrhoids was when I wasn’t eating enough foods with fiber. The constant straining to relieve yourself causes those tissues to become swollen and painful.  Drinking water is so important in having enough moisture to be able to eliminate. The more natural you eat the less problem you will have with hemorrhoids.

Burning & Hemorrhoids

September 1st, 2009

Feeling the burn??  Yeah.. down there.  You know what I’m talking about.

It sucks.  It’s painful, and annoying.  It’s kind of embarrassing sometimes.  If you’ve already experience hemorrhoids before, it’s likely you’ll experience again in the future.  What’s important at this point, then, is to treat it right to prevent future possible cases.  There are home treatments you can do to alleviate immediate pain.  If you want more permanent solutions, you should look in to pills and cream applications.  Here are some easy remedies you can try.

Feeling like a bath?  DO IT!  It’s very helpful for those dealing with hemorrhoids!  First off, it helps relax the body.  Second it relaxes sore muscles.  Third, it soothes irritated and burning areas.  Who wouldn’t want to relax in the bathtub and treat their hemorrhoids at the same time?  Just make sure the water is warm though.  Cold water doesn’t do anything for it.

Bleeding Hemorrhoids

February 6th, 2012

I have had hemorrhoids, but they never got to the point of bleeding.  I understand that bleeding hemorrhoids are more common that I realized.  A bleeding hemorrhoid can be either internal or external.  If you don’t know what a hemorrhoid is, it is when the veins in the rectum and anal area become swollen from pushing or straining.  Although most hemorrhoids go away by themselves with just basic treatment others such as bleeding hemorrhoids are much more serious.  Bleeding hemorrhoids can be a very scary experience when you see fresh blood coming from your rectum.

If the hemorrhoids are internal then you will see blood in your stools, toilet bowl and toilet paper.  If you have constipation as well, which may be why you got them in the first place, then it becomes even more painful and can cause the hemorrhoids to because even more serious.  Having hemorrhoids can make you feel  afraid to go out in public for fear you may bleed through your clothes.  This can make you feel isolated and depressed.   This is a condition when it is important to go see your doctor and find out what options you should consider next.
